| Administrative History | From about 1880 the court was named the Petty Sessional Division of Smalley. By about 1900, the Petty Sessional Division was named Ilkeston, meeting at Ilkeston, Ripley and Heanor.
In 1954, the court at Long Eaton, previously a part of the Derby petty sessional division, became part of the Ilkeston division.
In 1969, there was a major reorganisation of Petty Sessions, with the number of clerkships in the county being reduced by amalgamations.
