Parish of Sutton St Mary's and Duckmanton St Peter and Paul
Administrative History
Sutton cum Duckmanton is one of the ancient parishes in the county. The rectory of Sutton and vicarage of Duckmanton had been consolidated in the sixteenth century (the original church at Duckmanton was probably taken down then). Later in its history the parish had two churches, one at Sutton Scarsdale and another at Duckmanton. The church of St Peter and St Paul, Duckmanton was a licenced premises. Separate registers for marriages and banns were maintained from 1951 until the sale of the church building of St Peter and St Paul, Duckmanton in May 2016.
Custodial History
Deposited in Derbyshire Record Office on various dates, starting in 1980. Further records were deposited in June 2015. This list was added to the online catalogue as part of the FindersKeepers project, with the help of Elissa Rowe.
