Administrative History | The South Normanton Circuit was formed from the Ripley Circuit (see MM1-13) in 1948. It included the Wesleyan and King Street Churches, Alfreton; Tabor, Wesleyan and Bethel, South Normanton; Pinxton Wharf and Pinxton Town Street; Bentinck, Kirkby in Ashfield; Victoria Street, Stanton Hill; Priestsic Road, Sutton in Ashfield; Blackwell; B Winning and Sherwood Street, Huthwaite. When the Circuit was joined to the Alfreton and South Normanton Circuit (see MM 20-38) to form the Alfreton Circuit in 1966 (see MM 42), the churches at Kirkby in Ashfield, Sutton in Ashfield, Huthwaite and Stanton Hill were transferred to the Ashfield Circuit. |
