DescriptionAt the front and back of the register is an extract from the will of Paul Kirkland, reciting a yearly rent of 20s to pay for two sermons to be preached each year at Edlaston Church; a yearly rent of 5 shillings to be paid to the parish clerk for ringing the bells and attending the sermons; real estate is bequeathed to testator's wife for life and then to trustees so that a moiety of the income be distributed amongst the poor of Edlaston and Wyaston and the other moiety to be distributed amongst the poor of Yeldersley and Penders Lane in parish of Ashbourne, proved 1714. At the back of the register, a list of the recipients of Paul Kirkland's charity, 1808
