Title
Lease and release (/a and /b) by Alexander Harrington Foxcroft, esq of Breaston to Richard Thompson, yeoman, of Draycott in Wilne and his trustee, William Wheatcroft, writing clerk of Derby. Recites: mortgages to George Berry, lace manufacturer of Nottingham of 8/9 Jan 1827 (£1000), 17 Aug 1827 (£200), 7 Apr 1828 (£400), 15 May 1828 (£400); transfer of these mortgages to Gervase Bourne, coal master, late of Bramcote and now Babbington (Nottingham-shire), William Willis Bailey, engineer of Swadlincote and Hugh Bruce Campbell, with a further charge on 13-14 Mar 1829 of £500. The consideration of £1050 7s 9d is to be paid to the creditors of Alexander Harrington Foxcroft. The property concerned is several parcels of land in Breaston occupied in succession by James Snow, the late Benjamin Harrington, Samuel Cooke and now William Clarke: 5 acres 3 roods 5 perches of Walker Field, 3 acres 2 roods 27 perches in Little Walker Field [these were originally Walker Close, 9 acres 2 roods 8 perches and the Nether Field Close (8 acres 9 perches)]. Also annuities to be paid to Elizabeth Woodward (£10), to Charlotte Holme, wife of Revd James Holme (£20), the Minister of Sawley (£5) and annual rent of 5s to Pembroke College, Oxford.
