Archive Creator	Major General Henry Gladwin (c1730-1791) of Wingerworth, British army officer
Administrative History	In the 1760s, the Ottawa Indian Chief, Pontiac, led an uprising against British Forts, particularly around Detroit. The British Commandant, Henry Gladwin, of the 18th Regiment of Light Armed Foot was stationed in the area at the time. Gladwin was the son of Henry and Mary (nee Digby Dakeyne) Gladwin
Custodial History	These items were deposited by the Parish of Wingerworth in November 1978.
