Administrative History | Most courts for this division were held at Swadlincote: some meetings in the 1920s were at Woodville. Until 1897, when the county boundary between Derbyshire and Leicestershire was adjusted, Appleby, Chilcote, Donisthorpe and suchlike places were included in this division: they were then transferred to Ashby Petty Sessions. In 1974, the Swadlincote division was amalgamated with the Repton division to form the South Derbyshire division. This continued until 1978, when the present court was created. Parishes and townships in this division in 1899 were Boundary, Castle Gresley, Catton, Cauldwell, Coton in the Elms, Church Gresley, Drakelow, Hartshorne, Linton, Lullington, Netherseal, Overseal, Rosliston, Smisby, Stanton and Newhall, Swadlincote, Walton on Trent and Woodville |
