Administrative History | The Division included the following places until 1880: Aldwark, Biggin, Bonsall, Brassington, Callow, Carsington, Cromford, Darley, Dethick, Lea and Holloway, Hopton, Ible, Idridgehay and Alton, Ireton Wood, Kirk Ireton, Middleton-by-Wirksworth, Matlock, Tansley, Wensley and Snitterton and Wirksworth. Elton and Middleton and Smerrill are also referred to until about 1869. From about 1880, the following places are not included in the registers: Bonsall, Cromford, Darley, Dethick, Lea and Holloway, Matlock, Tansley, and Wensley and Snitterton. |
Custodial History | These records were deposited in the Record Office, 1) by the Clerk to the Magistrates of Wirksworth Petty Sessional Division through Messrs A J Cash and Sons of Wirksworth from the practice papers of their predecessors Stone and Symonds, Solicitors of Wirksworth on various dates in 1963, 2) by the Clerk to Alfreton Magistrates Court in July 1978 and by 3) the Clerk to Buxton Magistrates' Court in February 1990 and July 1991 under Section 4 (1) of the 1958 Public Record Act. |
