Description
Whereby, in consideration of £140 paid to him by William Pegge of St Thomas (Staffordshire), his uncle, Pegge conveys to John Chappell of Mansfield Woodhouse (Nottinghamshire), gent, a manor or mansion house at Yeldersley (tenant Margarett Pegge, mother of Thomas) with closes of arable, meadow and pasture in the tenure of William Beeson, i.e. Cow Close, Wastmeadow, Horse Peice, the Crofts, the Wood and the Mill peice, and a messuage at Yeldersley known as Drabbles Farm (tenant William Beeson), a messuage known as Brownes Farm (tenant Widow Potter), a messuage known as Messeys Farm (tenant Widow Massey) with all lands etc belonging to the said messuage, and a cottage known as Bakers Cottage with a croft (tenant Thomas Stone), upon trust to the use of Thomas Pegge for life and then to Chappell and Swift for 99 years upon trusts with remainder to Charles Pegge, son and heir apparent of Thomas, in tail general, and for want of heirs to the second son of Thomas etc - the terms of 99 years upon trust that if Thomas and Frances shall have more than one child at the time of his death, then Chappell and Smith are to raise £400 from he rents and profits of the above lands, as the portion of any such younger children
