Buttock, Burns of arms and face when involved in an explosion at Shipley Colliery and many more minor injuries. [...] He is given to fits of acute depression [...] his mental state may be due to or have been aggravated by his repeated injuries'. Handwritten notes: 'physical and mental wreck. Badly battered about during working life'. Tribunal findings: 'We think that the relevant accident has caused some slight deterioration in the underlying nervous condition and we treat this as an unforeseen aggravation'
