Description | Date of birth: 29/10/1895 Marital status: Married Address: 5 Ella Bank Road, Marlpool, Heanor Type of injury: Injury - leg Description of accident: Drawing bar out and a stone fell Further information: The claimant was injured by a fall of stone on to his right leg on 17 October 1949, which resulted in a break. According to a letter dated 29 April 1951 from the NUM, he was off work for 56 weeks, and returned to work on light duties 'working on the roads' for a lower wage than his original occupation as a Ripper. A copy of the Hospital case notes is included. He was assessed at 12 per cent for life final and the claimant appealed. At the Appeal dated 10 May 1951 the tribunal increased this to 18 per cent for life final. |
