Description | Date of birth: 24/02/1913 Marital status: Not given Address: 5 Dorothy Avenue, Mansfield Woodhouse Type of injury: Injury - back Description of accident: I was lifting a mechanical gummer, weighing a hundredweight, when I felt a sudden pain in my back' Further information: Ingham's accident was in April 1949, he was subsequently treated with traction at Harlow Wood hospital for prolapsed intervetbral disc. Returned to pre-accident work. Medical Board in March 1951 stated there was no loss of faculty. Grounds of appeal from Ingham: 'I am still having pain so that I cannot attend my work regularly and I cannot do the heavy lifting that I could do easily prior to the accident'. Tribunal noted: 'His unstable back which is likely to cause pain of varying intensity at varying intervals. He will also be likely to temporary exacerbation'. |
