Title | Medical Appeal Tribunal case file for Enoch Horsley, aged 51, [occupation not stated] at Ripley, relating to an Industrial Accident |
Date | 1951 |
Description | Date of birth: 22/07/1900 Marital status: Married Address: 20 Flamstead Avenue, Loscoe Type of injury: Injury - ankle Description of accident: Fall of coal, while loading on to conveyor Further information: The claimant had an accident on 1 December 1948 injuring his ankle. There are detailed hospital and medical board records. The claimant's grounds for appeal against the decision of 6 per cent for life on 14 August 1951 are that 'my assessment for loss of faculty is inadequate. My injured ankle causes me great pain after strain when either walking or standing. The 6 per cent assessment is so small that it would suggest my injury is trifling yet by reason of the injury.' The decision of 23 August 1951 was upheld by the Tribunal on 19 November 1951. |
