Description | Date of birth: 11/02/1886 Marital status: Widowed Address: 31 Northern Road, Heanor Type of injury: Injury - shoulder Description of accident: Piece of bind fell onto left shoulder Further information: The claimant had an accident on 13 December 1950, resulting in a shoulder injury. Hospital notes state 'Fracture midshaft of left clavicle.' It was initially assessed at 10 per cent and later at 2 per cent. The Notice of Appeal dated 14 September 1951 was on the grounds that that the assessment is too low. A handwritten letter from the NUM dated 2 September 1951 states 'This man is now 65 years of age, but he is going to try to go to work again.' On appeal the assessment was increased to 5 per cent for life, final. |
