Further information: From letter to Mr Kitts NUM Compensation Agent from Cyril Stone, Secretary Pleasley Colliery: 'Whilst he is a good workman he has a great failing to let his tongue say what it likes sometimes and I feel that this happened on his last Medical Board […] he had told the doctors what he thought [...] I should watch him on Thursday [...] he is a member of the Branch committee'. From the reply: 'I will endeavour to keep him in line also do what I can to help him'. Osteoporosis of the lumbar spine noted on X-ray 3 months after the accident.
