Further information: 1953 Tribunal. Earlier address: "Longacres", Sutton Spring Woods, Calow. From 03 December 1951 Howarth was incapacitated due to pneumonia for 5 weeks. Orthopaedic assessment in March 1953 concludes: 'Owing to his attitude towards his symptoms I think it is unlikely he will allow himself to return to his pre-accident work [...] his disability is not so great as he himself thinks it is'. Later papers from 1955 show a request for re-appealing against the 5 per cent due to a medically - certificated deterioration in Howarth's condition, but this was turned down by the Chairman of the Medical Appeal Tribunal. |
