Further information: Nervous disposition' and 'rather anxious looking small man' is noted in the Medical Board reports. In the claimant's appeal letter dated 6 February 1954 he states he cannot be found a suitable job at the Colliery and was signing on at the Labour Exchange. The 'nervous symptoms' are taken into account in the decision. The Colliery where the accident happened is given as 'Silverhill' in a handwritten letter by the claimant, who later worked at 'B' Winning. A letter from the Compensation Agent dated 28 December 1953 states 'He was in a very nasty accident at the Silverhill Colliery in September 1948 when an explosion occurred, one of his mates being killed and another seriously injured.'
