Date1950
DescriptionDate of birth: Not given
Marital status: Not given
Address: 17 Meden Avenue, Warsop
Type of injury: Injury - foot
Description of accident: Jumping down over-casts leading to a right heel injury
Further information: Goff had an injury on 18 December 1948. A Radiologist report on 18 November 1949 'revealed no evidence of any bony injury of the right heel.' There is a letter from the Ministry informing Mr Kitts that Mr Goff had turned up at the Ministry Regional offcie address in Nottingham, having possibly had the form stating the address of Shire Hall (the Tribunal) retained by a union official. His case was adjourned as he wished to be represented, having turned up 'an hour or so later.' The letter also states 'If his explanation is correct, you will no doubt wish to take the matter up with your local officials to ensure against repetition.' The Tribunal decision on 3 February 1950 was 15 per cent disablement for 8 months. Appeal by claimant: 'I still suffer considerably …. After standing for less than an hour doing light household duties….I am quite fit in body and mind and If this had not happened, I would still have been in my previous employment in the mine. As I am now, I am not much use for work of any kind, and to make ends meet is quite a problem these days. Please reconsider your verdict, I'm genuinely a sufferer'
