Further information: Flower suffered an injury on 17 April 1950. The Medical Board reported 'no loss of faculty' on 12 June 1950. There was a 4 inch scar from an operation in 1948. 'I have a dubble hernia [sic] and at times they come out and cause me pain'; in its conclusion the tribunal considered the loss of faculty 'neither substantial nor likely to be permanent' (the Medical Board had originally stated, 'No loss of faculty').
