Further information: The accident took place on 6 September 1949, resulting in a knee injury requiring surgery. A Medical Board Review on 7 September 1950 indicates 'nothing abnormal.' Cooper spent time in Berry Hill Hall Rehabilitation Centre during May 1950. Although there is a letter dated 26 September 1950 appealing the decision of 3 per cent for life, there is no paperwork relating to a Medical Appeal Tribunal.
