Description | Date of birth: 28/08/1901 Marital status: Married Address: 58 Brunner Avenue, Shirebrook Type of injury: Injury - back Description of accident: Strained back while lifting girder Further information: Clarke had an accident on 3 April 1949 and after seeing his doctor the following day, was an outpatient at Mansfield Hospital for four weeks. He continued work until 29 November 1949 but his back hurt him again and was an outpatient at Mansfield Hospital until 30 December 1949. He appealed against the decision of 3 January 1950 that there was no loss of faculty resulting from the industrial accident. Polyarthritis diagnosed by Medical Board as an unrelated condition and advanced arteriosclerosis noted. On 22 February 1950 the Tribunal concluded that there is a loss of faculty and 20 per cent disablement was awarded from 2 October 1949 for 16 weeks, followed by 10 per cent for 10 weeks. |
