Further information: The claimant had an accident on 9 June 1951, injuring his back. Special Hardship Allowance was disallowed from 9 July 1958 as it was found the claimant was doing work of an equivalent standard (from the Summary of facts on the Appeal referral). The claimant's grounds of appeal dated 24 July 1958 states 'The work that I am doing was specially found for me so I could try to rehabilitate myself if possible, but my progress seems to be nil.' The tribunal hearing on 19 August 1958 was adjourned for more information on overtime for electricians. In the Chairman's notes it states 'On own job would have been getting about £12 12s 0d per week. Only gets £9 2s od.' The appeal was allowed on 14 October 1958 and Special Hardship Allowance was payable. The claimant's regular occupation was a Grade II Electrician, but was then on light work as a 'Lamp-man.'
