Further information: Accident (not proven) October 1956 and sickness benefit had been claimed for hydrocele. A hernia was only discovered after being examined for a different complaint at the hospital. Claimant wrote: '(the surgeon) said to me "I think you have had your money's worth old chap. Hernia, hydrocele and Spermatocele"'. No hernia had been known of previously and it was suggested that heavy lifting may have brought this on.
