Further information: Claimant stated: 'I had to cease work, entering retirement prematurely, in fact if it had not been for this trouble I would have been working now, which would have increased my old age pension also my NUM pension'. Initial Appeal 4 December1956 adjourned, for medical evidence, to New Year's Day 1957. Beat wrist had been diagnosed in August 1951. GP report states clearly 'Mr Damant is quite unfit for any work involving heavy use of the wrists'. Claimant had retired in April 1953.
