| Title | Local Appeal Tribunal case file for Harold Britton, aged 40, Colliery fitter at Warsop Main |
| Date | 1956 |
| Description | Date of birth: Marital status: Married Address: 9 Vaughan Place, Langwith Type of benefit claimed: Industrial injury benefit Type of injury: Chest injury Further information: Mr Britton reported an accident on 5 November 1955 and saw a Doctor on 7 November. He was diagnosed with flu, but found that after 3 days bedrest he could not get up for about 2 weeks. He then went to the Doctor again (it is noted by the claimant that 'a Lady Dr was in place of my own Dr.') Nothing abnormal was found following tests and xrays at Mansfield Hospital and he was advised to change his job to one with lighter duties. He was off work until 29 November 1955. A copy of Form RM9 (IBC) states 'He is a neurotic individual.' His grounds for appeal were that his illness was accident-related. The tribunal hearing was on 27 March 1956 found against Mr Britton. |
