Further information: Successful appeal for special Hardship Allowance 16 November 1954. Tribunal hearing 21 April 1955 adjourned for medical evidence. Claimant worked as a Transfer Operator, belt driver and dataller since accident in March 1951. Also varicose veins present and Insurance officer submitting that inability to kneel was due to varicose veins rather than injury. Letter to Compensation Agent from NUM Secretary at Pleasley Colliery, who represented the claimant at the hearing starts: 'Dear Sir & Bro' and concludes: 'Thank you again for allowing me to help you, and for the confidence you have shown in me'.
