TitleDeclaration by John Downes of Rotherham Yorkshire, clerk, (reciting the purchase of an estate from Francis Revell on 26 Apr 1732, and a bond by Downes and John Wilkinson of Hilcote to Revell dated 26 Apr 1732 as mentioned in 2/59. The sum should have been due to Revell in the lifetime of Elizabeth his wife, in case she should join in a fine to be levied of the estate by her husband, as well as upon her death, whichever should first happen; the same was by mistake omitted in the condition of the bond. Elizabeth has since joined with her husband and levied a fine, whereby the bond ought now to be full force, and the money paid to Revell. Wilkinson has money of John Downes being part of the fortune of Downes wife who was Wilkinson's sister, sufficient to discharge the bond that the sum ought now to be paid out of the fortune). Downes covenants that this declaration shall be sufficient discharge to Wilkinson and his lands, tenements, goods and chattels against Downes and Anne his wife for as much money as Wilkinson shall pay in discharge of the bond, 30 Sep.
