Description
The exact form of the admission registers varies over time in response to changes in mental health legislation. From 1851-1890 they are called registers of admissions; from 1890-1906 they are called registers of patients; from 1907-1948 they are called general registers. The registers usually record the name, sex, age, marital status, previous occupation and abode, and date of discharge/death of each patient.
