Deed of gift from John de Horsley, son and heir of William de Horsley of Chesterfield to John Rankell and John de Spondon, chaplains, of a messuage and appurtenances in Chesterfield on a street called le Neyermarketstedlane [New Market Place Lane], between the tenements of John de Chainey to the east and the Guild of the Blessed Mary to the west, adjoining headlands above the High Way to the north and the water called Hypre [ River Hipper] at the south. Witnesses: John de Stafford, Nicholas de Leghes, Nicholas de Wardlow, William de Laverack, Thomas Laverack and others. Dated at Chesterfield, Friday after the Feast of St Michael the Archangel 19 Ric II [1 Oct 1395]
