Administrative History
The Beresford family of Newton Grange and Fenny Bentley are said to be descended from Thomas, younger son of John Beresford of Beresford fl 1411. Thomas Beresford married Agnes Hassall who died in 1467.
Custodial History
These documents were deposited with Derbyshire County Council in September 1942 by the Beresford family via their solicitors and accessioned in Derbyshire Record Office on its establishment in 1962.
