Title
Deed of covenant between Thomas Webster of Barlow Lees, yeoman, Thomas Brown of Tibshelf, maltster, Mary Brown of Tibshelf, spinster, John Mellor Brown of chesterfield, surgeon and apothecary, and Joseph Webster of Barlow Lees, Yeoman, by which in consideration of the marriage between Thomas Webster and Mary Brown, Thomas Webster agrees with John Mellor Brown and Joseph Webster then he will permit them to receive the sums of £333.6s.8d and £166.13s.4d (£500 - Mellor family legacies) when they become payable and to place the sum to interest in their own names in trust to pay the interest to Thomas Webster for life, then to Mary Brown for life and then to use and benefit of the children of the marriage until the age of 21 or their marriage, then to divide the principal sum of £500 between the children at their attaining the age of 21 or their marriage: in default of issue the sum to be paid to such persons as Mary Brown shall indicate by deed or writing.
