Parish of Denby St Mary the Virgin
Administrative History
Denby St Mary the Virgin is one of the ancient parishes in the county. It included the settlement of Bottles, Openwoodgate and Smithy Houses. Openwoodgate St Mark's (consecrated in 1891) became a chapel of ease to Belper St Peter. It also included part of what became the parish of Codnor and Loscoe in 1844 (see D3374).
