| Administrative History | According to the minutes and newsletters of the Local History Section an Oral History Project was started 1971-1972. The member who was running the project resigned from the Society in 1981. By 1984, the project was still looking for volunteers to continue the work, and it probable that it was wound up around this time.
The following information is taken from a panel in the Society's Centenary Exhibition: DAS Local History Section - Derbyshire Oral History Project All over Derbyshire there is unwritten history of what life was like 30, 50 even 80 years ago. This history is not in books or archives, but it lives in the memories of the men and women who made it - the pupils, workers, managers, servants, trade unionist, church and club members and sportsmen of the day. The Derbyshire Oral History Project aims to use sound recording to keep this remembered history in a more permanent way, and to make these memories available to all those interested in the past life of our towns and villages. We are also interested in the stories your mothers and grandmothers told. WE NEED - the names of people with stories to tell about their town, village, work, play, school, club, church, customs - anything about the past life of Derbyshire. OFFERS TO HELP should be made to Mrs S. Lindop, Derbyshire Oral History Project, Derbyshire Record Office, County Offices, Matlock, Derbyshire. |
| Custodial History | These records were deposited with Derbyshire Record Office by the Local History Section of the Derbyshire Archaeological Society in June 1974, July 1976, October 1976 (accessioned March 1977) and June 1977. |
