Title
Volume of extracts (1588-1676) relating to copyhold estates of Belper
Date
[1588-1676]
Description
At front, note written by RP Jodrell that it is a book of extracts regarding Belper copyhold estates from the Court Rolls of the Manor of Duffield, made by Mr Manley, Steward from 1767 to 1776, with a view to the Manor of Belper being detached and sold from the Manor of Duffield, which was "a most ridiculuous idea", as both manors were so blended together that the estates can never be severed from each other, with postscript that there are two volumes of extracts
From court rolls dated 1 July 30 Elizabeth [1588] to 30 November 1676, recording names of people sdmitted and surrendered, brief details of properties, type of tenure with other details, and amount of fine
