Containing memoranda on wages for individual people as ordered by Mr or Mrs Smedley, sundry minor rules and regulations, pig sales and purchases, payments for cleaning, holiday arrangements, notes on silver in stock and purchases, notes on the number of pupils at Mr Smedley's (Sunday) Schools at Holloway, Birchwood, Higham, Bonsall, Matlock and Ashover, servants' wages, newspapers purchased, agricultural returns, food purchases, daily account of number of patients resident, accounts of whitewashing rooms, addresses, chimney sweeping accounts, agistment (Joyce) accounts, contacts for butter, agreements with plasterers and account of "beds in stock".
