Lease and release by Samuel Ward of Richmond (Sy) esq., and Ann his wife, to Anthony Lax Maynard of Chesterfield, esq., Clerk of the Peace, for the county of Derby, in consideration of £1150, of 3 messuages on the northwardly side of St Mary's Gate, adjoining eastwardly to the County Hall Yard with stable outbuildings etc. (tenants - Holmes, John Webster and William Roe) and 4 messuages on the southwardly side of Walker Lane, with outbuildings, gardens etc. (tenants Widow Wright, Thomas Cattall, Stephen Davenport and Samuel Taft), all in Derby, upon trust to the use and benefit of the County of Derby - covenant to levy a fine to the use of Maynard in trust for the county - covenant for the production of title deeds with schedule of deeds, 1/2 Jun.
