Administrative History | Clowne Parish Council was established under the provisions of the Local Government Act 1894. Parish Councils help to provide local public amenities and services in areas such as street lighting, recreation grounds, footpaths, allotments and public furniture, as well as liaise with other local government bodies in areas such as planning developments and transport provision. |
Custodial History | These records were deposited in Derbyshire Record Office by the rector for the parish of Clowne in September 1973. A further deposit was received from the Clerk to the Parish Council in July 1981, although these have been re-accessioned to D3698 as they relate to the civil role of the parish before the establishment of Parish Councils in 1894. Further records were also received in January 2004. |
