Administrative History
Stapenhill is one of the ancient parishes in the county. Originally it included the townships of Stapenhill, Caldwell, Stanton and Newhall: there were chapelries at Caldwell (see D1283) and Newhall (see D2537). Immanuel church was built in 1965 and became a separate parish in 1996 (see D4912).
The parishes of Burton-on-Trent and Stapenhill were intermixed but in July 1864, part of Burton was annexed to Stapenhill.
Custodial History
The records were deposited at various times from July 1973.
