Administrative History | Rural District Councils were created by the Local Government Act 1894, their responsibilities particularly relating to public health. They were abolished as part of the reorganisation of local government in 1974. Clowne RDC included Barlborough, Clowne, Elmton with Cresswell and Whitwell. When it was abolished in 1974, the area was absorbed into Bolsover District Council. |
