Title | [As 083] - 'being informed that the Council of State were about filling up the county troops with officers and taking it for granted that some officers in the county were desirous to be employed but not by you know whom, I thought it not contrary to your mind to move Lord Fleetwood for Mr Wild to be lieutenant and accordingly the business is effected - I have also put in Cornet Richard Adcocke's name to be quartermaster and believe both these will give satisfaction - there is now a full discovery of the plot to the Council - yesterday all horses about the cities of London and Westminster were seized upon - some of their own party begin to peach one another - it is time for all honest men to appear'. 30 Jul |
