(a) Thomas Sanders, Hasfield (Gloucestershire) to Major Smith, Burch Morton (Birtsmorton, Worcestershire) - 'I desire you to march this afternoon towards Tuxbury (Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire) and go toward [Evesham] or which way you shall be advised, to Bewdley Worcestershire - Colonel Greaves is not far from us with 1000 horse - send your horse to Tuxbury [Tutbury] and come here that we may consult - I will send post to Col Greaves to come to us' 16 Sep. (b) Edward Smithe, Burch Morton, to Major Sanders Hasfield - I thought you would have made the side of S(evern?) your march towards Beudly [Bewdley] but if you think the other more convenient, I submit - send me word by this bearer of the place of your next rendezvous'
