TitleLease for possession by Joshua Marriott of Manchester, Lancashire, merchant (eldest son, heir at law and executor of Joshua Marriott deceased) and John Waterhouse of Hayfield, yeoman (eldest son, heir at law and devisee of John Waterhouse, deceased) to Benjamin Ward of Willington, merchant, of Waterhouse's mansion house, known as Great House or Newhouse, at Hayfield, formerly described as all that part of a capital messuage consisting of the dwelling hall or housestead with the chamber over the west side thereof, the great parlour with chamber over, the upper buttery with chamber over (on the north side of the dwelling hall), the nearer adjoining the house and a moiety of the orchard, with the Lower Barn with the shippen and stable (4 bays), Upper Barn and shippen (3 bays), the Winehouse and shed (used as a shippen) and the Calf House or Hen House, with closes known as Great Meadow, Further Meadow, Nearer Leyfield, Further Leyfield, Lower Alder Dole, Over Alder Dole, Middle Field, Brown Field, Great Field, Little Field, Watery Bank, Watery Hey, Cupper Croft and Marple Botham, a close called Further Wood and a cottage adjoining Upper Croft (total 26 acres of a large Cheshire measure of 8 yards to a rod or pole). 21 Feb
