| Administrative History | The correspondence in this collection relates to the proposed introduction of a new school for Dethick, Lea and Holloway. This would have been in addition to the elementary school in Lea which was founded through charity in 1859 (see D7759) and would later become Lea Council School (see D4335). However, there appears to be no evidence that the plans for another school came to fruition. Some years after the creation of these records, in 1888, the Dethick, Lea and Holloway School Board was formed, with six members (see D694). |
| Custodial History | These items were presumably transferred from the school board to Derbyshire Education Committee. They were subsequently transferred from the County Council's Modern Records Section in July 1972. |
