Administrative HistoryWith the death of Robert Dethick in the mid-15th century, the manor passed by marriage to Thomas Babington. In 1586 Anthony Babington was attained for treason and executed but he had previously settled Dethick upon his younger brother, George, subject to a life interest to his wife, and the manor thereby escaped forfeiture. George Babington subsequently sold the manor to Nathaniel Hallowes and Robert Walker in the proportion of 2 to 1. After Walker's death, his third share was split into 7 but these shares were eventually purchased by the Hallowes family
Custodial HistoryThese records were deposited in June 1972 and July 1973.
