This map is described in the Derbyshire Record Society's "A Catalogue of Local Maps of Derbyshire c.1528–1800" (compiled by Harold Nichols, revised by Mary Wiltshire assisted by Susan Woore, published 2012). The description reads as follows:
A Survey of Lands at Lea belonginge to Mrs Hodgkinson Surveighed by John Halton. 12 Aprill 1698. Surveyor: John Halton. Scale: no scale [1:3750]. Size: 15 x 21 cm. Materials: ink on parchment,. Centred on: SK327573 Notes: cardinal points at edges, top of sheet east. Simple sketch showing lands in ownership only, 20 acres, scattered closes, lands in open fields: named fields with area, adjoining owners: buildings, street with dotted lines, gate: margin design suggesting plaited straw: endorsed 'A Survegh of Le[a] Town Head Farm.
