Description	This committee was set up under the provisions of the 1902 Education Act, taking over responsibility for the schools formerly run by the School Board. Its first minute book continues on from the last meeting of the Board (for earlier Board minutes, see D1631/E2/1/1-4). In 1945, its functions were taken over by the Divisional Executive, which used the last minute book for the meetings of governors of the Ilkeston Council Schools (see D1040 C/E 29/1).
