TitleAward of George, Earl of Shrewsbury between Nicholes Bakewell, late husband of Agnes (eldest dau. of and one of the heirs of John Ulkerthorpe) and Henrye, his son and heir, and John Worth, Cecily his wife, and Humffrey Columbell and Kateryn his wife (Cecily & Kateryn being cousins and heirs of John Ulkerthorpe, i. e. daus of Margaret dau, of John) over the partition of Ulkerthorpe's estates and the estates of Roger his brother. Having examined a partition made between Nicholes and Henrye, and the said Margaret and Thomas Basford, then her husband, which appeared doubtful because it was made when Thomas was under age and moreover the partition was not equal - the said partition to be void - John, Humffrey and Kateryn to have all the estate which John and Roger Ulkerthorpe had in Palterton and Scarclyff, Netleworth and Nottingham - Nicholes and Henrye to have the manor of Ulkerthorpe (Oakerthorpe) and all lands etc. in Ulkerthorpe, and Lylye Strete, except that whereas the lands awarded to Nicholes and Henrye are of greater value, therefore John, Cecily, Humffrey and Kateryn are to have a rent of 29s. 4d. p. a. from the manor of Ulkerthorppe - Nicholas to make an estate in law in fee to John, Cecily, Humffrey and Kateryn of the estates which he has lately purchased in Nettleworth Apr, 24 Hy VII [1509]
