Title | Public house licensing |
Date | 1793-1974 |
Description | The County Licensing Committee for Derbyshire was established in 1905, and worked closely with the Derbyshire Compensation Authority which was set up in 1907 to deal with rejected applications for licences. The County Licensing Committee confirmed grants of new licences for public houses which had been made by Licensing Committees in the Petty Sessional divisions. The bodies were combined as the County Confirming and Compensation Committee in 1951. The committee was known as the County Compensation Committee from 1964
The County Licensing Committee would appear to have inherited or been sent many of these records from the Petty Sessional divisions. |
