Description
Between (1) John Zouche of Codnor Castle, esquire, John Zouche and sons and heirs apparent John Zouche and Nicholas Zouche of Blechingle [Bletchingley], Surrey, gentleman, and John Mitchell of Nottingham, gentleman, (2) Robert Roper of Lincolns Inn, county of Middlesex, (3) Humfrey Alsop of Butterley, gentleman, and (4) Michael Eyre of Alfreton, gentleman.
Dated 2 Nov 38 Elizabeth [I]; by modern reckoning the year is 1596.
Description on cover adds that Sir John Zouche levied a fine in the octave of St Michael 39 Elizabeth [6 Oct 1597] with proclamation for a recovery, as appeared on the 166th roll of the Michaelmas Term 39 Elizabeth
Endorsed with memorandum of examination of deed at Alfreton on last day [30th] of Septembet 1619.
True copy of original examined by E Salisbury (record agent), 4 March 1898.
