Administrative History
The Mossbrook Colliery worked the Parkgate Seam. It only employed up to 1967 10 to 12 men underground, with 2 men at the surface, with numbers decreased only 3 men employed in 1968 and 1969. There was also a drift mine which started in 1955. In the early 1970s the colliery was taken over by the Doe Lea Colliery Limited.It finally closed on 11 Dec 1979.
